#Chickenfries at the centre of a modern love affair starring a chicken and fries

Toronto, ON, May 19, 2015 – BURGER KING® is letting love rule as it introduces Chicken Fries to restaurants across Canada. The new menu item, which follows a recent successful re-launch in the U.S., is being supported by a cheeky national campaign that chronicles the budding affair between a love-hungry chicken and the world famous BURGER KING® French fries. 

The national marketing campaign began with a series of Twitter and Instagram posts over the past two weeks. Since BURGER KING CANADA posts began appearing, the chain’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram followers in Canada have been able to bear witness to Chicken Fries coming to life as the love affair unfolds in a series of instantly recognizable romantic situations. The chain’s newly launched Canadian presence on Twitter and Instagram adds a bigger digital footprint to the brand’s growing presence on social media. 
Chicken Fries are made with premium white meat chicken coated in a light crispy breading seasoned with savoury spices and herbs. Chicken Fries are packed with taste and shaped like fries, and are perfect to dip in any one of BURGER KING® restaurants’ delicious dipping sauces. Chicken Fries are available at the recommended price of $3.49 with nine pieces per order and are available at participating BURGER KING CANADA restaurants for a limited time only. 

“We’ve watched the tremendous buzz that the launch of Chicken Fries created in the U.S., much of it a result of their authentic great taste,” said Tracy Chin-Sam, Marketing Director for the BURGER KING® brand in Canada. “It’s a fun, tongue-in-cheek campaign that has a lot of user-generated content shared amongst devoted Chicken Fries fans.”

The campaign is being rolled out with new in-store creative including the now iconic Chicken Fries packaging. Canadians can keep up with the Chicken Fries love story and join the BK® Fan Kingdom on Twitter (#ChickenFries), Instagram and Facebook.   

Also this summer, BURGER KING® is introducing its sought after BBQ Bacon Collection for a limited time across Canada. The BBQ Collection features the return of the summer-time favourite BBQ Bacon WHOPPER® and introduces the new BBQ Bacon TENDERCRISP® Chicken Sandwich.
